WPCI Projects Highlighted During IAPH Africa/Europe Regional Meeting in Hamburg
The International Association of Ports & Harbors (IAPH) dedicated one day out of its three-day Africa/Europe Regional Meeting to the World Ports Climate Initiative (WPCI) and WPCI’s efforts to reduce green house gas emissions and improve air quality.
The WPCI member ports that volunteered to be project ports showcased their Projects in Progress at the meeting, which took place on November 16-18, 2009, in Hamburg, Germany.
Hosted by Hamburg Port Authority, the regional meeting focused on four of the six Projects in Progress by hearing from representatives of the ports responsible for the projects. The four projects were:
- Carbon footprinting (Port of Los Angeles)
- Environmental Ship Index (Port of Rotterdam)
- On-shore Power Supply (Port of Gothenburg)
- Intermodal Transport (Port of Amsterdam)
More information about WPCI’s Projects in Progress, including the two additional projects (Lease Agreement Template and Cargo-Handling Equipment), can be found on the WPCI website here.
