OOCL’s Green Initiatives Highlighted in New Guide

Hong Kong ocean carrier OOCL’s environmental care initiatives are featured in Hong Kong’s first guide aimed at helping businesses reduce their carbon footprints.

Hong Kong-based Climate Change Business Forum teamed up with the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce to launch the “How to reduce emission” guide that was being published May 14, 2009.

“OOCL is pleased to participate in this guide, which is the first of its kind for Hong Kong, said Philip Chow, OOCL’s CEO. “We believe every business in every industry must proactively work to reduce harmful emissions, and business leaders should encourage sustainable economic development through innovative and voluntary measures.”

Published in both English and Chinese, the guide details the steps that companies in Hong Kong should take to reduce emissions, including the business opportunities, return on investments, and bottom line savings in doing so.
